Initial Comprehensive Oral Examination

Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting of existing restorations, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will take x-rays, which includes either a full series of x-rays or a panoramic x-ray.  When determining which dental x-rays will be taken, each patient will be evaluated to their own specific needs, based on their risk factors and dental history.  Please allow two hours for this visit to become established with us.

 Implants

Dental implants are a single tooth solution to a single tooth problem.  Implants are titanium posts that are placed in the jaw in the space normally occupied by the root. Implants become integrated into the jawbone and act as a foundation for an artificial tooth or permanent bridge. In some cases, dentures can be supported by or connected to dental implants. https://spearedu.co/VBQSAzB

 Veneers

Veneers are thin custom-made shell of porcelain cemented over the front of a tooth to change the color or shape of the tooth. Veneers are used on teeth that are chipped, stained, or slightly crooked. https://spearedu.co/X3QtV7V

 Crown

A crown is like a protective cover for a tooth and encases the entire clinical crown of the tooth (the part of the tooth that you can see in your mouth).  It fits over the tooth to make it stronger and improve the way it looks, especially if the tooth is broken, worn down, or has a very large filling.  Crowns are usually made of a material similar to porcelain for aesthetics or gold for strength and permanently cemented on to the tooth. Crowns are also used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are used to restore the tooth. https://spearedu.co/NkQxBuz

Bridge

A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration used to replace one or more missing teeth by "bridging" the gap between neighboring teeth.  The replacement tooth fills the empty space and is supported by the natural teeth or dental implants on either side of the gap.  The bridge is cemented in place, so it does not come out like a denture.  By filling in the space with a bridge, it prevents the nearby teeth from shifting and helps to maintain bite and facial shape.  https://spearedu.co/0nVuDAi

 Teeth Whitening

Whitening procedures have effectively restored the smile of people with stained, dull, or discolored teeth.  Tooth whitening (bleaching) involves the application of hydrogen or carbamide peroxide agents to oxidize and remove intrinsic and extrinsic stains, resulting in a lighter enamel shade. Treatment is performed through supervised take-home systems.   https://spearedu.co/ctwPX3F

Clear Aligner Therapy

Clear aligner therapy is an orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth using a series of custom-made, removable, transparent trays (aligners).  It's an alternative to traditional braces.  Aligners are worn for 22 hours per day, removing only to eat and drink.  You'll change aligners every 1-2 weeks to continue the movement towards the final position.  Treatment typically is between 6-18 months, depending on the case.  They are comfortable and discreet and can address mild to moderate crowding, gaps, rotations and some bite issues. Invisalign and Sure Smile are two commonly known treatment options. https://spearedu.co/dzlHsE3

 Root Canal Therapy

A root canal is a procedure that saves the damaged or infected tooth instead of removing it.  The endodontist (root canal specialist) cleans out the infection inside the tooth, disinfects it, and seals it to prevent further problems. The tooth is then restored with a crown or filling, so it looks and works like a normal tooth.  https://spearedu.co/5nCMXS1

Pit and Fissure Sealants

Dental sealants are thin, protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars and premolars).  These teeth have deep grooves where food and bacteria can collect, making them more prone to cavities.  Sealants act as a barrier, sealing out plaque and acids that cause tooth decay. https://spearedu.co/BgZUDp0

 Toothaches & Dental Emergencies

A toothache can be stressful and disruptive. We offer same-day care to diagnose the source of your pain.  Persistent or severe tooth pain should never be ignored as it may signal infection, decay or injury.  Our goal is to help you to minimize the need for emergency treatment. https://spearedu.co/B42vXts
